A significant milestone in Indias National Supercomputing Mission NSM was recently reached when Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated three Param Rudra supercomputers and a HighPerformance Computing HPC system. The Param Rudra systems will improve Indias computing skills in vital research domains, such as meteorology, climate studies, space science, and physics. Supercomputers worth about ₹130 crore have been installed at major research centres the InterUniversity Accelerator Centre IUAC in Delhi, which studies atomic physics and material science the Giant Metre Radio Telescope GMRT in Pune, which studies cosmology and the S N Bose Centre in Kolkata, which studies advanced physics and earth sciences. This program supports Indias goal of becoming a worldwide leader in scientific research and highperformance computing. Read More..

Meta revealed wearable technology and new AI technologies at Meta Connect 2024. They also announced a collaboration with Arm to create small language models for smartphones and other devices. Because these models are optimized for edge and ondevice computation, they enable faster AI inference without requiring cloud servers. Meta and Arm aims to develop more intelligent AI helpers that can perform sophisticated activities without the need for typed commands, such as snapping pictures or placing phone calls. To facilitate quicker, more effective AI performance on smaller devices like laptops, tablets, and smartphones, more minor, processoroptimized models are being developed, such as Metas Llama 3.2. Pixel 9 Pro Series May Get AutoDetect Thermometer App Feature for Easier Temperature Scanning

An improved Thermometer app that makes temperature recording easier might soon be available for Googles Pixel 9 Pro series and Pixel 8 Pro. As discove

An improved Thermometer app that makes temperature recording easier might soon be available for Googles Pixel 9 Pro series and Pixel 8 Pro. As discovered during an APK analysis of version 1.0.67, the app may use a material autodetection capability. This would remove the requirement for manual selection by enabling the temperature sensor on the back of the devices to identify the material being measured automatically. Before scanning, users must select the material type such as food, textiles, or wood. The functionality may still allow manual selection but detects using TensorFlow Lite models. Even if a public release is not confirmed, it might improve the apps body and object temperaturemeasuring capabilities. Read More..

With successfully issuing twopart Islamic bonds sukuk, Saudi Aramco has raised $3 billion for its second debt market venture of the year. A robust demand that surpassed original forecasts helped the state oil company sell $1.5 billion in fiveyear sukuk at a spread of 85 basis points over U.S. Treasuries and another $1.5 billion in 10year notes at 100 basis points. This action is being taken as Aramco, now producing at a capacity of around 25% below capacity, is ready to pay $124.3 billion in dividends for 2024, up from $97.8 billion the previous year. With reduced oil prices and profit margins resulting from OPEC+ production cutbacks, the loan is intended to finance capital expenditures. Read More..
