Using Microsofts Azure AI speech technology, Truecaller has introduced a unique AIpowered "personal voice" feature that lets users customise greetings and call handling in their AIgenerated voice. Truecaller previously offered an AI assistant to handle calls by taking messages, recording them, or filtering them. This functionality is expanded with the new personal voice feature, which enables users to answer calls using their "real" AI voice without responding physically. The product director for Truecaller, Raphael Mimoun, emphasised that this functionality improves user experience by bringing comfort and familiarity. With the addition of the personal voice function, the Truecaller AI assistant can screen unsolicited calls by recognising the callers intent from their speech and converting the exchange to text for review.
